At last year’s Feast of Tabernacles, and again this year, ICEJ witnesses a beautiful outpouring of global generosity. Pilgrims travelling from every corner of the world have not only brought their prayers but also tangible gifts of love for some of the most vulnerable members of the local community.

Among the various contributions received, a significant collection of baby and women’s clothing was gathered during last year’s Feast. These items were delivered to ICEJ’s local partners who specialise in pro-life programmes and crisis support for women facing difficult circumstances.

In Israel, the need for pro-life support is significant. Each year, roughly 18,000–20,000 abortions are approved through government committees. Many women facing these decisions are dealing with financial hardship, lack of family support or other difficult circumstances.

ICEJ supports pro-life organisations in Israel that work quietly but persistently to offer alternatives, providing practical help, counselling and ongoing support so women do not feel forced to choose between survival and motherhood.

For the ICEJ AID team, the impact of these donations is personal. Jannie Tolhoek, who helps oversee the distribution of these goods, has witnessed firsthand the joy these gifts bring to the families receiving them.

“Driving there to distribute these donations and seeing their beautiful smiles is incredibly moving,” shared Jannie. “It turns a simple delivery into a moment of true connection and hope.”

The clothing was integrated into comprehensive support packages designed to help mothers who have chosen life for their children. For many of these women, basics such as high-quality, clean clothing are luxuries they cannot take for granted.

This letter of thanks touched our hearts:

“Your kindness has brought warmth, comfort and dignity to newborns and their mothers at a very sensitive and meaningful time in their lives. Your donation helps ensure that their newborns are welcomed with softness, warmth and love, and that their mothers feel supported and encouraged as they begin their journey of motherhood.”

It was also noted that adding these clothes to existing equipment packages provides a “greater sense of abundance” to every family served.

Beyond the practical value of a warm onesie or a soft blanket, these gifts carry spiritual weight. They serve as a reminder to women in crisis that they are seen and valued by a global community.

As the thank-you letter concluded: “Beyond the practical value, your gift carries a powerful message of compassion and solidarity. It reminds these mothers that they are seen, cared for, and not alone.”

Whether it is one outfit or several, your donation helps bring comfort, dignity and encouragement to mothers and babies who need it most—and reminds them that they are part of a wider family.
