Positions at ICEJ Home for Holocaust survivors in Haifa, Israel

We are looking for new staff in our Haifa Home for Holocaust survivors which is located in Haifa.  The Haifa Home is a community of Holocaust Survivors who live in an assisted living framework. The work is very diverse and interesting! 

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist for our residents in the Haifa Home, working closely together with the head Physiotherapist. Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Physio-/Occupational therapy with the residents including gymnastic groups, Nordic Walking groups as well as developing creative, activation and cognitive programs.
  • Optimizing and purchasing of home aid supplies
  • Willingness to put your hands on works outside the professional responsibilities.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High level of flexibility
  • Excellent communication skills

Language skills:

  • English, German, Russian/Ukrainian (preference) and willing to learn Hebrew
  • Commitment to stay for a minimum of 2 years

What do we offer: In general, the following applies for International volunteers who are accepted to serve at the ICEJ Haifa Home for Holocaust survivors. (For Israelis, the terms of service will be negotiated):

  • Housing in a two-bedroom apartment with a staff member of the same gender.
  • Israeli medical insurance.
  • Israeli cellphone or sim card for those who prefer their personal device.
  • A monthly cash stipend of NIS 1,500 That is about 400 Euro at the current exchange rate.
  • Free lunch at work.

We are looking for an Assistant to the Director of Holocaust Projects. You will work with the residents daily and host our Christian groups and donors that come to visit the Haifa Home. Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Handling of the ICEJ Adoption Program: distributing mail to the residents and dealing with the correspondence to the donors.
  • Corresponding, planning and hosting of Christian groups and donors including guided tours through our museum
  • Visiting the residents and helping with whatever is needed in the project.
  • Organising and hosting activities for the residents
  • General admin work

  • Good administrative and organizing skills
