Good Friday Greeting
Published on: 1.4.2026The ICEJ prays we all gain a fresh appreciation for the magnitude of this day.
Dear Friends & Prayer Partners,
Good Friday is a special time for remembrance.
Amid all that is happening within our families and communities and all around the world, Good Friday reminds us to ground our faith in the eternal truths of the power, wisdom and majesty of the Cross.
Indeed, it is a moment to reflect on the sacrifice of the Son of God. He who is “the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person” (Hebrews 1:3), loved us “to the point of death, even the death of a cross” (Philippians 2:8). Yeshua endured agonising pain at Golgotha. “The light of men” (John 1:4) suffered so deeply that the entire land was shrouded in darkness for three hours. And the God for whom “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool” (Isaiah 66:1) was sealed in a tomb.
And yet, we remember this story did not end there, but with great hope and overwhelming gratitude we also look forward to his Resurrection. “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)
God is truly with us, and through Christ’s atonement we can be in right relationship with Him forever. Christ has died, He is risen, and He will come again. Amen.
Blessings,
Dr. Jürgen Bühler, ICEJ President
