Christian Embassy Rushing to Meet War Needs in Israel
Published on: 27.3.2026By David Parsons, ICEJ Senior Vice President & Spokesman
Over the past month of war with Iran, the people of Israel have been rushing to bomb shelters over and over again to withstand the daily onslaught of Iranian ballistic missiles cruelly targeting the civilian heartland of this nation. Despite the dangers, the staff of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem have been traversing Israel to view the damages, assess the areas of greatest need, respond to urgent requests for help, and encourage the Israelis we meet along the way.
Here is a brief review of the ICEJ’s urgent war relief efforts undertaken during the last four weeks of this sharp escalation with Iran and Hizbullah in Lebanon, known in Israel as “Operation Roaring Lion”. This is all thanks to the quick response of our Christian donors, who have enabled us to engage in the following relief aid projects:
Assistance for Holocaust Survivors
In addition to special care provided for the residents of our Haifa Home, we have assisted hundreds of Holocaust survivors in Haifa and the north, learning about them through our call center and many contacts. This includes preparing and delivering meals, and providing food supplies to Holocaust survivors who cannot leave home to shop for groceries due to the constant rocket threat.
Also, we have helped Holocaust survivors who do not have easily accessible bomb shelters to move to safer locations. Our assistance covered the use of special taxis and ambulances to move them to safer hotels for a week.

The ICEJ also provided a recliner chair for a dear elderly Holocaust survivor who our AID team met in Beersheva after his home and furnishings were all destroyed by a missile strike.
Helping Displaced Families
The ICEJ has provided special grants for 27 Israeli families whose homes were severely damaged or destroyed by Iranian missiles.

We also have purchased furniture to help house 40 evacuee families taken in by our friends at Yad Mordechai, near northern Gaza.
Emergency Equipment for First Responders
The ICEJ has purchased emergency equipment for first response teams, including special extra-protective helmets and vests for 25 Zaka volunteers.
We also have donated our special Motorola communication devices for the emergency response teams in the Zevulun Regional Council in the Galilee. These are the same uniquely encrypted walkie-talkies which were instrumental in saving thousands of lives in the Gaza border communities assaulted in the mass terror invasion on October 7. One security officer in the Lachish region recently used them for the first time and just wrote us that “they are amazing” and of “great quality”.
Upgrading Public Bomb Shelters
The ICEJ has upgraded 10 large public bomb shelters in the center of Israel with new handrails, lighting, ventilation, paint, and other improvements to make them more comfortable and safe for those repeatedly needing use of them.
We also furnished 8 public bomb shelters along the northern border for longer-term stays, by purchasing mattresses, chairs, tables, children’s activities, large fans, WIFI, and other items.
Special Activities for Children
Besides the toys and games provided to children stuck in bomb shelters for long hours at a time on the northern border, the ICEJ also has funded five group activity sessions for children of new immigrant families staying in Aliyah centers run by our partners at The Jewish Agency For Israel.
Therapy Treatments
The ICEJ has sponsored trauma therapy care for numerous families in Beit Shemesh, as well as five group therapy sessions for new Jewish immigrants in Aliyah centers.

Food Assistance For Families in Impacted Areas
The Christian Embassy has distributed gift card vouchers for food and other purchases to 130 needy families in severely impacted areas, including the Negev towns of Dimona and Arad where massive missile strikes devastated entire neighbourhoods, and in Shlomi and other towns on the northern border under relentless rocket fire from Hizbullah in Lebanon. Our refrigerated truck also has been delivering food to needy families across the country during this entire crisis in Israel.
