The ICEJ at work in Israel
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem was founded in 1980 as an evangelical Christian response to the need to comfort Zion according to the scriptural mandate: "Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord's hand double for all her sins." Isaiah 40:1-2
The ICEJ strives to fulfill this calling in the land through several programs. Our programs, including:
ICEJ Aid:
ICEJ Aid touches the lives of all people in Israel by contributing to projects in every sector of society across the nation. We fulfill our calling to comfort God’s people by meeting the needs of children, elderly, disabled, lone soldiers, new immigrants and needy families. ICEJ Aid represents Christians around the world who wish to support Israel through the qualified and caring staff of our department. We are your hands and feet in the land as we interact with these needy people on a daily basis.
Aiding Sudan's Refugees:
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem has launched an emergency effort to assist Israel in caring for hundreds of Sudanese refugees who have fled into the country from Egypt this year.
The Nursing Homecare Program:
The Nursing Homecare Program is a ministry of comfort in practical ways, providing nursing assistance and physical care to elderly and disabled immigrants while also caring for their social, emotional and spiritual well-being. A cornerstone of this ministry is encouraging these often lonely people in the midst of their daily concerns. For many, these visits are a highlight in their week.
Aliyah:
Since the early 1980s, the ICEJ has helped thousands of Jews overcome political and geographic obstacles when immigrating (making “Aliyah”) to Israel. From launching protests outside Soviet embassies worldwide to sponsoring 52 planes of new immigrants, plus buses to transport Jewish immigrants to airports, the ICEJ has played a key role in Aliyah. The ICEJ labors in remote areas of Siberia and other former Soviet republics as well as North and South America, encouraging the Jewish population to return to the land of Israel.
