ICEJ's Nursing Homecare Program
Since 1996, the Nursing Homecare Program has been a significant ministry of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem. Our team in Jerusalem provides basic nursing assistance and physical care to elderly and disabled Russian Jewish immigrants, while also considering their social, emotional and spiritual well-being. With this aid, uprooted Russian Jews who have chronic medical problems or disabilities are able to stay at home with their families, without having to be moved to an institutional facility.
The Homecare Program is a ministry of "comforting My people" in very practical ways. A cornerstone of this ministry is encouraging these often lonely people in the midst of their daily concerns. Together with giving them the nursing care they need, the nurses share their time and friendship and let them know how precious they are. For many, these visits become a highlight of their week. It is not an easy job, but one done with joy. When the Lord brings the blind and the lame back to His land (Jeremiah 31:8), He also cares for them.

Our goal is to delight and encourage our families as much as possible and our method is love. Because God is love, our fountain is endless. Jewish holidays and birthdays provide very good opportunities to reach out. In many of our families we are the only visitors. But we are very happy to show up with flowers and small presents just to celebrate spontaneously with them. What a blessing it is to see some joy in their eyes.
