By ICEJ News

19 Aug 2008

Masked terrorist in Munich (wikipedia.com)The Israeli embassy in Beijing and the Israel Olympic Committee held a memorial service at the Hilton Hotel in Beijing on Monday to honor the 11 Israeli athletes who were brutally murdered during the 1972 Olympic games in Munich. The ceremony was attended by hundreds, including many political leaders, foreign dignitaries, military attaches, Olympic officials, Israel’s athletic delegation, and cabinet minister Raleb Majadele. The Fatah-linked terror group Black September took 10 Israeli athletes and their coach hostage on September 4, 1972 and killed all the athletes and a German police officer after West German police tried to rescue them. Since the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney, memorial services have been held by the Israeli Olympic delegation, reported Ynetnews.
