Passover Appeal
By ICEJ Aid 10 Mar 2010

The upcoming Passover season is a special holiday for occasion well in advance. Yet it can also be a difficult time for those who cannot afford even the most basic items needed to mark this ancient biblical festival.
ICEJ AID has already been receiving many urgent requests for help in providing traditional Passover foods and supplies to impoverished families, needy new immigrants, single-parent homes, the elderly and especially Holocaust survivors.
This year, Passover celebrations begin with the traditional Seder meal on the 29th of March. With one-third of Israelis living below the poverty line, local charities normally feed over 250,000 families each Passover. That number has risen sharply this year with the recent global financial crisis. Thus we look to you, our friends and supporters, to help us meet the needs of those families who are turning to our Israeli charitable partners at this holiday season.
This is an opportune time for Christians to comfort Israel’s poorest sectors, as we distribute Passover gift baskets so they too can celebrate freedom with dignity this year.
