Hagee ‘honors’ Israel at Jerusalem event

By ICEJ News

09 Mar 2010

Pastor John Hagee of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas was in Jerusalem on Monday for the Christians United For Israel’s annual “Night to Honor Israel” event, held this year at the Jerusalem Convention Center. A crowd of close to 1,000 supporters loudly applauded his speech in which he referred to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the “Hitler of the Middle East” and expressed his gratitude to Judaism, saying that “without Judaism there would be no Christianity.” He also assured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was in attendance, that “we believe the Jewish people have the right to live in their modern homeland, and that Israel has the same right as any other nation to defend herself from attacks.” Netanyahu “saluted” Hagee in response, while warning, “There is no greater threat to mankind than a radical I slamic regime gaining nuclear weapons. If Iran develops nuclear weapons, the world would never be the same. Remember that for the tyrants in Iran, Israel is only the little Satan. Their real target is America.”
